Police Clash With Protesters in Paris: COP21 – Climate Emergency (Dispatch 1)

As more than 140 world leaders converge in Paris to try to reach an agreement to prevent irrevocable climate change, discontent is growing outside the conference halls among those who say what countries have pledged so far is not enough.

The State of Emergency declared by French president François Hollande in the aftermath of the deadly Islamic State terror attacks in Paris means the long planned Paris Climate March is outlawed, along with all other protests during COP21. But even during this security lockdown, climate activists from around the world have traveled to Paris and are refusing to be silenced.

VICE News follows activist collective Brandalism as it takes over key advertising spaces to highlight the links between consumerism, fossil fuel dependency and climate change. We meet young climate activists finding creative ways of circumventing the protest ban, and we’re on the scene at Place de la Republique as frustrated protesters get teargassed by police after defying the state of emergency rules.

Can Climate Change Be Stopped? – The People Speak

While world leaders are meeting in Paris, VICE News asked our viewers to weigh in about climate change, and how corporations, world leaders, and individuals can work together for a cleaner, greener, and safer planet.

Hear what people from Bogota, Colombia to Chelyabinsk, Russia had to say about our warming earth, and what they hope leaders will do to address climate change.

London Elektricity – Artificial Skin (feat. Keeno & Emer Dineen)

Buy Here: http://LonElek.lnk.to/AreWeThereYetyb / Deluxe Edition: http://LonElek.lnk.to/AreWeThereYet-Deluxeyb

“Are We There Yet?” is the sixth studio album from London Elektricity out on the 6th November on his own nineteen-year-old label Hospital Records.

Over 14 tracks “Are We There Yet?” combines beautiful chord progressions recorded from his own Steinway piano – a family heirloom passed down through generations – with perfect vocal harmonies from Tony himself, Emer Dineen, Pete Simpson and a welcomed return of award-winning jazz singer Lianne Carroll all underlain with rolling percussion and enveloping bass lines.

From the uplifting and playful opening of “Singing Ringing Tree” to the soulful “Why Are We Here?”, the spine-tingling roller “Artificial Skin” right through the deeper layers of “Dropship”, London Elektricity’s latest project incorporates a number of styles whilst still keeping to the true and world famous “London Elektricity” sound.

Best experienced in its entirety, “Are We There Yet?” maintains the live finesse which London Elektricity is known for, giving a gentle reminder to the paramount success of “London Elektricity Live” in the early 00’s.

Since his last album “Yikes!” London Elektricity has continued to grow his drum & bass empire, overseeing the development of two labels, a number of talented artists and internationally renowned events brand “Hospitality”. His encyclopedic knowledge of music spans across several decades and in turn gives a unique quality to his own production as is clear with the outstanding “Are We There Yet?” LP

The seminal second album from Rene LaVice shows a commitment not only to musical diversity, but also his chartered growth as an artist. One of the most creatively unique journeys that any LP has offered from the Ram Records camp, it pedestals music which has been present throughout sets from the past year. Whether that’s been on the stages of Las Vegas’ EDC, championed by revered label head Andy C, or at Download Festival, Glastonbury and during support slots for The Prodigy by Rene himself, there are stand out tracks which fans have already been made familiar with on dancefloors across the globe. And the wait for their release has been met with baited breath.

Already hitting airwaves with debut album ‘Insidious’, which received Radio1 airplay from Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw and Mistajam, the follow up has received support from the likes of Beats1 mogul Zane Lowe and MTV. ‘The Calling’ found itself nestled on Radio1’s daytime playlists, whilst rock-inspired ‘Part of Me’ was premiered on iTunes biggest streaming platform.

From the slamming 808s of the aptly named ‘Fook it’, to the indie, vocal lead crescendos of ‘Wave’, Rene clearly smashes a prototype throughout the LP’s entirety. You’re also reintroduced to Radio1 A-list record ‘The Calling’, as well as dancefloor detonator ‘Air Force One’ and an array of other singles which have set the album’s precedent. Plenty of fresh new cuts add to the impressive track listing, with opening track ‘Lights Outs’ featuring the rasp of David Boomah and clunking reece bass, whilst album closer ‘Riot All Right’ ends on Rene’s own signature voice notes.

Merging together so many stylistic features, taken from an array of influences, this album presents a multi-levelled approach to music making, drawing not just from electronic music but also genres celebrated worldwide. ‘Play with Fire’ will stand as one of the most pivotal release in not only Rene’s discography, but also across drum & bass as a whole… A ground breaking set of records which prove the genre’s development, from the jungle breaks of the 90’s, to its adaption to the contemporary world.

Fred V & Grafix – Green Destiny (Subwave Remix)

Buy Fast Warehouse Music: https://HospitalRecords.lnk.to/FastWarehouseMusicyb

Following from the sounds of soul and jungle, chapter three of the “Fast Music” series dives into the deeper levels of drum & bass.

“Fast Warehouse Music” draws forty-six tracks from the Hospital Records back-catalogue that rewind the clock to the days of the warehouse raves, swamping concrete jungles with all-surrounding subs from unforgiving sound-systems.

Cut the lights and descend into the darkness with two hours of Hospital classics mixed by longstanding member of the Hospital team, Nu:Tone. Unearthed are the works of Hospital favorites (Nu:Logic, Lynx and S.P.Y), Med School experimenters (Royalston, Rawtekk, Anile, Bop and Joe Syntax) as well as prominent players Photek, Commix, Subwave, Enei and Stray.

Gangs of El Salvador (Full Length)

El Salvador is set to eclipse Honduras as the country with the highest homicide rate in the world. There have already been over 5,700 murders this year in a country with a population of just over six million. El Salvador’s murder rate is now the highest it’s been since the end of the country’s brutal civil war — there is on average around one murder an hour.

The staggering death toll follows the breakdown of a truce between powerful, rival gangs and the government. Police and military are now combatting the gangs head-on and, as part of its so-called “iron fist” strategy, gang members are being charged with a new crime — membership of a terrorist organization.

VICE News correspondent Danny Gold headed to El Salvador to investigate what many are now calling a war between the street gangs and the government.

HELP NEUROFUNKGRID : https://www.patreon.com/neurofunkgrid

Out now ► https://www.beatport.com/ignescent/tracks/fgunyhpm9zda/armata-original-mix

NickBee’s Armata is a sweeping, swooping piece of music, starting off with the producer’s usual considered styles, straying into complex electronic melodies, before launching some serious low end. Armata is a great introduction to the sound of Ignescent, offering some very cutting edge sounds, but still with a soid basis of experience and knowledge.
