Dave Owen – Still Waters

Really in love with this soul influenced tune. Great sampling of ‘A Garden Of Peace’ which was also often used for hip hop sampling. Great result which perfectly fits my mood.

“Logistics – Fear Not : Released 16.04.2012”

With a track record of bringing us stone cold classics throughout his decade-long career, the man otherwise known as Matthew Gresham returns with his fourth artist album “Fear Not”.

Arguably more cohesive and ambitious than his previous efforts, the album covers a variety of tempos and styles across its 15-track duration (20-track Special Edition). Fear not, though, this is still 100% Logistics to the core, so sit back and enjoy the ride…

Kicking off with the accelerating powerhouse that is the title track, we are plunged straight into a world of grinding synths and booming sub bass. “2999 (Wherever You Go)” begins to challenge our pre-conceptions, with clicking drumstep beats meeting juddering subsonic warps. We discover the original version of previously released single “We Are One” with its classic rave sounds and catchy vocal hook. Tracks such as “Try Again” see Logistics slow the tempo right down, whilst the future jungle of “Early Again” adds another choppy twist in the journey. “Running Late” and “Destination Unknown” provide musical interludes between the rest of the tracks, and then “Letting Go” sees a change in tone again, before “Watching The World Go By (featuring Alice Smith)” provides a triumphant and emphatic outro to this exceptional album.

Logistics will be presenting “Fear Not” at a number of Hospitality shows across the UK, including Hospitality Brixton — 6th April, Hospitality Bristol — 7th April, Hospitality Brighton — 8th April, Hospitality Leeds — 20th April and more.

Martsman – Halow

Out Now – £4.99 iTunes – http://bit.ly/sub150

V/A — ‘Sub 150’
Dubstep, drumstep and the bass between – Released 26.03.2012 on Hospital Records

Ramping the sub-bass up and easing the tempo down, “Sub 150” is the
brand new download compilation from Hospital Records. Expect dubstep,
drumstep and everything in between in this immense 20-track offering
as “Sub 150” delves into the medical records of releases past and
recruits fresh blood for releases future. Known primarily as a
drum+bass label, there have always been a plethora of other genres and
styles on offer on the Hospital, with releases extending deep and wide
into what has become known more recently as “bass music”, from some of
the pioneers of what has become known as “dubstep” (the likes of
Phuturistix and Darqwan), to the more recent alternative offerings
from big guns Netsky, Logistics and Camo & Krooked.

Featuring signed Hospital artists, our extended Med School family,
along with other likeminded names — Blokhe4d, N3gus, Randomer,
Martsman and CLS and newcomers such as Other Echoes (Nu:Tone and
Logistics’s youngest brother no less!) – flavours are varied,
exciting and always unique.

“Sub 150” starts with Blokhe4d’s refined, and yet punishing monster
“Zelda” and takes us on a journey under the 150bpm radar where we
encounter such gems as Darqwan’s “Three Note Blue” which oozes class,
the infamous Barbarix remix of Mistabishi’s – “Printer Jam” and
another Mistabishi classic — “White Collar Grime” — is brought out
from the vaults. Bristol based N3gus steps up with Carasel for the
MC’s first ever recording on the rambunctious, in your face “Snakes”.
The Guardian’s “Band of the week” Submerse brings the classic garage
flavours with his superb “This Time You’re Wrong”, while Other Echoes,
the youngest of the Gresham brothers, makes his debut on Hospital with
spaced out dubstep riddim “Quantum Spectrum (feat. Tim Parker)”.

Proving there’s always been more to Hospital than meets the eye, this
collection of past and present hits plunges below the 150bpm mark.
Prepare to be immersed.

Kursa – Machinate

“Machinate is a cool word, right ? But it has nothing to do with machines. Other than the fact that this track was meticulously programmed using a machine, its warm analog-like soulful vibe will aid in achieving the scheme referred to by the title of Kursa ‘s debut release for Adapted records.

The intrigue referred to in the title track will come in the form of twisted glitches and razor sharp bass samples that will put you in an alert state. At the same time, its well orchestrated progression is timed to make sure every cell and synapse in your body finds its proper place after syncing into this classy blend of neural-hop mayhem and jazzed out glitch-funk. The vocalic bass patterns on the second track of this EP will scream in your head for a reload as you wait for Kursa to select the next sequence of tight drums, nice keys and bass lines that rip through the fabric of space-time on its way to reaching the glitchstep massive!!”
