2pac Changes hq
Sat, 13 Apr 2013 05:58:52 +0000
Come on come on
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor & even worse I'm black
my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch
Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a nigga he's a hero
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares
one less hungry mouth on the welfare
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers
give 'em guns step back watch 'em kill each other
It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other
We gotta start makin' changes
learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers
and that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is
[Bridge w/ changing ad libs]
Come on come on
That's just the way it is
Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
aww yeah
[Repeat]
[2]
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause both black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is
[Bridge]
[Talking:]
We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.
[3]
And still I see no changes can't a brother get a little peace
It's war on the streets & the war in the Middle East
Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
so the police can bother me
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the facts givin' it back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up,
crack you up and pimp smack you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
they get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool
my mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped
& I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
some punk that I roughed up way back
comin' back after all these years
rat-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh
[Bridge 'til fade:]
Some things will never change

The D.O.C. - The Formula (HD)
Sat, 13 Apr 2013 04:32:58 +0000
Tracy Lynn Curry (born June 20, 1968), known as The D.O.C., is an American rapper from Dallas, Texas. He was a member of the Fila Fresh Crew and a creative force behind the rap group N.W.A.
The D.O.C. contributed lyrics and vocals to N.W.A.'s debut album, Straight Outta Compton and to Eazy E's debut, Eazy-Duz-It. He was recruited as a member of Fila Fresh Crew which turned out successful until he went to California for N.W.A. When Ice Cube left the group, the group remained impressed with The D.O.C.'s work and kept him on board.
In 1989, The D.O.C. released his Dr. Dre-produced debut album, No One Can Do It Better. The album was very well received by critics, and sold very well, peaking at #20 on the Billboard 200. Allmusic gives the album a five-star rating and describes it as "an early landmark of West Coast Rap" as well as "an undeniable masterpiece". The track Portrait Of A Masterpiece was remixed in the UK for Atlantic Records by CJ Macintosh and Eddie Gordon in 1991, becoming an underground anthem with DJ Sasha.
Not long after his debut album was released in 1989, his vocal cords were damaged in a car accident.
However, The D.O.C. remained important to Dr. Dre, who used his talents as one of the writers for his debut solo album The Chronic, contributing to the tracks "Lil' Ghetto Boy," "A Nigga Witta Gun," and "Bitches Ain't Shit". He also appeared on the skit track "The $20 Sack Pyramid." He is referenced by name in "Nuthin' but a G Thang," and appears in the song's video as well. The liner notes to The Chronic say, "I want to give a special shout out to The D.O.C. for talking me into doin' this album." His name is mentioned by Snoop Dogg in the intro of the album. ("Peace to my nigga D.O.C., still makin' it funky enough").
The D.O.C. worked on Snoop Dogg's debut album Doggystyle and added some vocals on the song "Serial Killa". Also, the words, "Like my nigga D.O.C, No one can do it better" were featured on the song "Nuthin' but a G Thang" by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg "Public Service Announcement" by Jay-Z has a direct reference to the rapper. The D.O.C continued to be a ghostwriter for various songs on Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg albums.
The Dr. Dre song "What's the Difference?" from the album 2001 features the following lyrics, sung by Dre:
Back when Cube - was rollin wit Lorenzo in a Benzo I was bangin wit a gang of instrumentals, got the pens and pencils, got down to business; but sometimes the business end of this shit can turn your friends against you - but you was a real nigga, I could sense it in you - I still remember the window of the car that you went through, that's fucked up - But I'll never forget the shit we been through, and I'ma do whatever it takes to convince you, cuz you my nigga D.O.C.
According to a 2009 interview, Snoop Dogg assisted The D.O.C. in seeking a voice therapist. It was found that The D.O.C.'s vocal cords are not irreparably severed or crushed, and that his voice could still be surgically restored by up to 70%. As such, LA-Based Publicist, Idalyze Nasiha Rose, has assisted him in finding a surgeon who will repair his vocal cords. The D.O.C. is currently undergoing final tests before the surgery takes place, which may or may not be televised. In a recent interview in October 2010 that documentary is mentioned by Hip Hop Producer and cousin of Dr. Dre, Sir Jinx and is supposed to be about the early days of The D.O.C. and presumably his accident, drug addiction and road to recovery (i.e. surgery).
At one point The D.O.C. was planning to both write a book about his experiences on Ruthless Records & Death Row Records and film his surgery and subsequent recovery from vocal surgery.
After rejoining forces with longtime music exec and friend Alex Roberts from the DRR days the D.O.C will be making one of many trips to Barcelona to meet with Roberts, whose label HMG has its headquarters and to meet with Dr Paolo Macchiarini who will discuss the first part of the procedure ON RESTORING DOCS VOICE which will eventually take place at the world-renowned doctor's clinic in Florence, Italy. The D.O.C will have his film crew with him and it is Roberts that has also convinced Dr Paolo Macchiarini to endorse the current project on the D.O.C and continue to stay on board.

Diego Stocco - Duet for Leaves and Turntable
Fri, 05 Apr 2013 20:58:17 +0000
Recently I bought a turntable to use it for an experiment, but that didn't turn out as I was expecting. Then, I noticed the equally spaced ridges on the plate and got an idea for something else.
For about an hour I recorded short musical phrases by rubbing leaves against the turntable (the type of leaf, angle, pressure and fold determined the sound), then I combined the different takes together.
Every element comes from those recordings, including the bass, kick and snare sounds (shaped with EQ, compression and resonators).
If you'd like to see more of my musical projects based on trees and other natural ingredients here's "Music from a Tree" bit.ly/9hRhB2 and "Music from Nature" bit.ly/ID6Vow Enjoy! : )

United States of Monsanto: GMO giant is now litigation proof
Sat, 30 Mar 2013 00:51:55 +0000
After President Obama signed the Agriculture Appropriations Bill into law on Tuesday, hundreds of thousands of people have voiced their opposition to H.R. 933. A provision in the law known as the "Monsanto Protection Act" protects the biotech industry from being sued in a court of law. The Farmer Assurance provision takes the Federal Court's right to halt the sale and use of genetically modified seed crops regardless of health risks. Jeffrey M. Smith, author of Seeds of Deception, joins us to discuss.

My friends were out exploring the desert when a police helicopter starts circling them. Then it fucking lands and a cop gets out and starts giving her a shakedown. Not easily intimidated she asserts her rights and video's the entire incident. Awesome!! Nice to know why we always have a ghetto bird flying overhead, and that it takes six cops to fly it.
